Flooding in France Water on The Land case study

Violent storms and heavy rain hit the south-east France on Saturday evening. It is estimated that the city of Nice received 10% of its average yearly rainfall in two days alone and floodwater was seen in the streets of Cannes.

For your Water On The Land topic you will need to be able to detail a case study of a recent flood, describe its primary and secondary effects and divide the impacts into environmental, economic and social. Some A/A* students may also be able to identify political impacts and make links between the effects.

This flood event is tragic with at least 19 people, including one Briton found dead.
